Toronto, November, 2025 – The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is pleased to announce that Wawanesa has maintained its support of the Broker Identity Program (BIP) at the Full Partner level.

The sponsorship from Wawanesa will support IBAC’s Broker Identity Program (BIP), a national advertising campaign that raises awareness of the significant value that insurance brokers provide for their clients – choice, advice and advocacy.

In addition, their investment will contribute to important IBAC initiatives including IBAC’s technology leadership, professional development of the broker workforce, and our strong and effective federal advocacy to maintain the separation of banking and insurance, which protects consumers and promotes a fair and competitive marketplace.

“As a 100% Canadian owned and operated mutual insurer, our strength lies in the enduring partnership we’ve built with brokers across our country who know their communities best,” said Evan Johnston, President and CEO of Wawanesa. “By combining their local expertise with our shared purpose, we’re able to better help Canadians protect what matters most and strengthen the places we live, work, and play.”said Evan Johnston, President and CEO Wawanesa .

“Wawanesa’s ongoing commitment to the broker channel reflects a shared belief that strong local relationships and trusted advice are at the heart of protecting Canadians,” said Peter Braid, CEO of IBAC. “This valued partnership strengthens our collective ability to serve communities and ensure that consumers benefit from real choice and expert guidance.”
