Toronto, July 8, 2024 – The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is pleased to announce that the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa) has maintained its support of the Broker Identity Program at the Full Partner level.

Wawanesa’s sponsorship will support IBAC’s Broker Identity Program, a national advertising campaign that raises awareness of the significant value that insurance brokers provide for their clients – choice, advice and advocacy.

In addition, Wawanesa’s investment will contribute to important IBAC initiatives, including IBAC’s technology leadership, professional development of the broker workforce, and their strong and effective federal advocacy to maintain the separation of banking and insurance, which protects consumers and promotes a fair and competitive marketplace.

“Wawanesa is committed to being a thoughtful, dependable partner for brokers,” said Graham Haigh, Wawanesa’s SVP & Chief Operations Officer – West. “Be it our investment in dedicated underwriters to help brokers when they need it, our work to advance connectivity by making all our APIs available to the entire industry, or our continued commitment to IBAC and the Broker Identity Program, we want brokers to know we value their expertise and commitment to great service.”

IBAC Chief Executive Officer Peter Braid added: “Wawanesa is a valued partner of IBAC and a strong supporter of the broker channel. Their renewed sponsorship demonstrates their unwavering belief in insurance brokers, and their understanding of the value that brokers bring to their clients. Wawanesa is also a strong champion for broker connectivity, and we greatly appreciate their leadership and contributions to advancing technology solutions that will significantly enhance the insurance experience for consumers, brokers and carriers alike.”
