Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company remains a Full Partner of the Broker Identity Program for 2022
September 27, 2022
Toronto, August 29, 2022 – The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is pleased to announce that the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa) has maintained its support of the Broker Identity Program at the Full Partner level.
Wawanesa’s sponsorship will support IBAC’s Broker Identity Program, a national advertising campaign that raises awareness of the significant value that insurance brokers provide for their clients – choice, advice and advocacy.
In addition, Wawanesa’s investment will contribute to important IBAC initiatives, including IBAC’s technology leadership, professional development of the broker workforce, and their strong and effective federal advocacy to maintain the separation of banking and insurance, which protects consumers and promotes a fair and competitive marketplace.
“Independent insurance brokers are the strongest advocates for customers in our shared communities, and essential to making sure Canadians get the right coverage,” said Carol Jardine, Wawanesa’s President of Canadian P&C Operations. “I want to thank Canada’s insurance brokers for everything they have done over the past few years, through the pandemic, catastrophic weather events, challenging market conditions and more. Time and again, you’ve proved brokers are an essential service. That’s why Wawanesa is honoured to partner and invest in programs and resources to help brokers strengthen relationships, grow their business, and protect their strong market share.”
IBAC Chief Executive Officer Peter Braid added: “Wawanesa is a valued partner of IBAC and a strong champion for the broker channel. We appreciate their unwavering belief in insurance brokers, and their understanding of the value that brokers bring to their clients. This renewed investment reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that insurance consumers are well served, especially in difficult times.”
