Toronto, June 30, 2026 – The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is pleased to announce that Wawanesa Insurance (Wawanesa) has maintained its support of the Broker Identity Program at the Magenta Level.

Wawanesa’s sponsorship will support IBAC’s Broker Identity Program, a national advertising campaign that raises awareness of the significant value that insurance brokers provide for their clients – choice, advice and advocacy.

In addition, Wawanesa’s investment will contribute to important IBAC initiatives, including IBAC’s technology leadership, professional development of the broker workforce, and their strong and effective federal advocacy to maintain the separation of banking and insurance, which protects consumers and promotes a fair and competitive marketplace.

“We’ve always believed the best way to buy insurance is through an independent broker,” said Evan Johnston, President and CEO of Wawanesa. “These trusted advisors play a vital role in their communities, helping Canadians navigate complex risks and take meaningful action to protect what matters most. We’re proud to continue our longstanding investment in the broker ecosystem that has made our sector strong.”

“Wawanesa is a valued partner of IBAC and a strong champion for the broker channel,” said Peter Braid, IBAC CEO. “We greatly appreciate their confidence in the significant value that brokers bring to their clients. This renewed investment reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that insurance consumers get the expert advice and support that enables them to make informed choices that meet their needs”
