YOUR CAREER. ACCELERATED.

The Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) program sets you up to achieve more.

This nationally recognized broker professional development program expands your knowledge in property and casualty insurance, enhances your professional credentials and helps you advance your career.

Now updated with renewed content and an enhanced student experience, CAIB New Edition 1.0 gets you where you want to go – faster.

IBAC introduced the CAIB program in 1985 to give new and practicing brokers the in-depth knowledge and competencies to become expert insurance professionals.

CAIB was written by practicing brokers who are subject matter experts (SMEs) in their field. The content is comprehensive, relevant, and aligned with insurance issues, legislation, regulations and service standards. It has stood the test of time and serves as a preferred path to licensing and advancement in the insurance broker profession.

The CAIB program is entering its next phase.

CAIB New Edition 1.0 brings new modules on emerging topics, a modern learning experience, and refreshed content aligned with Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations’ (CISRO) Fair Treatment of Customers Guidance (FTC) and IBAC’s Broker Competency Profile (BCP).

As a CAIB New Edition 1.0 student, your needs are prioritized to ensure optimal learning outcomes. You’re in the driver’s seat with a range of formats to match your learning style.

  • An online digital course with interactive features that increase engagement and knowledge retention;
  • An e-book that enables students to access the material anywhere, anytime; and
  • A printed textbook in a reader-friendly style with visuals and graphics that reinforce key concepts.

You’ll be supported with resources and tools that complement your learning throughout the course.

Completing this program earns you the CAIB designation – a professional credential that is highly regarded throughout the insurance industry. Adding CAIB to your signature demonstrates that you have achieved an in-depth knowledge and understanding of all aspects of property and casualty insurance and helps advance your career.

CAIB graduates are confident, competent brokers who are equipped to provide expert advice and protect customers against loss. With a strong focus on consumers, CAIB is more than a broker professional development program; it ensures that Canadians are well served in their insurance needs.
