IBAC History
IBAC was created by a group of visionary insurance brokers who saw the value in having a national presence. Under the leadership of Jean Charles d’Auteuil, a number of smaller broker associations from across Canada joined together in 1921 and formed a national organization to advocate for the best interests of insurance brokers and consumers. That legacy has endured for almost 100 years.
Today, IBAC has 11 Member Associations that collectively represent over 43,000 insurance brokers.
Our mission is to support and promote the insurance broker profession, uphold consumer protection, and speak as a unified voice on issues relevant to the insurance industry.
